Signing in
Codes rather than passwords, why access is per address rather than per domain, adding and removing people, and why removal is the step to put on a checklist.
Your portal is at luna.gary.club. There is no password to create, share, forget or reset.
How signing in works
Enter your email
The address we added for you. Not a shared inbox, and not a distribution list.
We send a six digit code
It is good for fifteen minutes and can be used once.
Enter the code
You stay signed in on that device for thirty days.
Codes are hashed, single use, attempt capped and short lived. A six digit code is only safe while all four of those hold, which is why there is no option to make it longer lived or reusable.
Who can sign in
Only addresses we have added, one at a time. Access is deliberately not domain based.
A company domain has contractors on it, people who left last quarter, shared inboxes and aliases nobody owns. This portal reaches an operator that talks to your customers and knows what they said, so it is an explicit list rather than a rule about the part after the at sign.
If you ask for a code and nothing arrives, the address is almost certainly not on the list. We deliberately give the same response either way: a login that says no such user is a way for anyone to find out who works at your company.
Getting someone added
An owner asks
On Requests, or by replying to your thread with us.
Say the address and the role
Owner or team. See Settings for what each can do. Team is the right default for almost everyone.
They sign in the same way
Their own address, their own code, their own conversation thread.
Getting someone removed
Tell us the day they leave. Removal is immediate and covers everything: the portal, their thread with the operator, and any link they were sent.
This is the step most often forgotten. A leaver keeps access until somebody says so, and that access is a conversation with an operator that knows your customers, your pricing and your pipeline. It is worth adding to whatever offboarding checklist you already have.
Thirty days, and what ends a session early
| What happens | Effect on your session |
|---|---|
| Thirty days pass | You sign in again with a new code. |
| You sign out | That device only. |
| You are removed | Immediate, everywhere. |
| You sign in on another device | Both stay signed in. Sessions are per device, not one at a time. |
Common questions
Not today. If it matters for your business, ask on Requests and we will scope it rather than guess at whether it is wanted.
You can, and you should not. Each person gets their own conversation with the operator, and a shared thread reads to it as one person contradicting themselves. It will try to reconcile positions that were never in conflict.
Tell us straight away. Requests are rate limited per address so an inbox cannot be used as a weapon, but somebody trying is worth knowing about.
Yes. Ask on your laptop and finish on your phone if that is easier.
What you see when you are in
The sidebar is grouped, and the grouping answers the question that was actually ambiguous when people first used it.
| Group | What is in it | What it is about |
|---|---|---|
| Your operator's name | Overview, Talk, Mail, Ads | The operator itself and what it is doing |
| Training | Teach, Skills, Sales, Goals | What it knows, what it may do, how well it does it, what it is aiming at |
| Setup | Connections, Settings | Wiring and account |
| Gary Club | Requests | Us, not your operator |
Ads only appears when an ad account is actually connected. A nav item that always leads to an empty state teaches people to stop reading the nav.
The last group is deliberately labelled with our name rather than yours, because it is the one place in the portal where you are talking to Gary Club rather than to your own operator.
On your phone
The portal works on a phone, and the sidebar becomes a row of pills across the top. Talk in particular is designed to be usable one handed, because the most common real use is checking something between meetings.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Almost always |
|---|---|
| No code arrives | The address is not on the list, or it is a different address from the one we added. Check for a plus alias or a different domain. |
| Code says it is wrong | It has expired, at fifteen minutes, or it has already been used. Ask for a new one. |
| Signed out sooner than thirty days | A different browser, a private window, or site data cleared. |
| You can see the portal but not the pages you expected | You are a team member rather than an owner. See Settings. |
